Many students do not go to college because of the steep cost to attend. There a lot of students and families that support this claim, with some experts adding that other socio-economic factors also contribute to this issue. Additionally, there are many that think that not everyone needs to go to college. Either way, some students still struggle to pay for their college education. Early exposure to college provides a practical solution to this problem. While ninth grade is typically viewed as a good time to start thinking about college, it would be more beneficial to students if they started before then in middle school. Students would receive information about financial aid and admissions. They would be able to plan which classes to take and activities to join in high school in order to obtain scholarships and admission. Completing these actions will increase their chances of enrolling in college. Although some people argue that college is not necessary for every student, it is still helpful for students to have a plan after high school. Introducing students to college in middle school will improve college access. One benefit of early college exposure is that students and parents will receive more information on financial aid and scholarships. For someone who is not familiar with the process to get to college, locating and applying for scholarships and financial aid can be confusing.
